Era de esperar que Sony se pronunciara tras el gravísimo incidente que vivimos el pasado 29 de febrero, digo 1 de marzo. La compañía ha lanzado un comunicado oficial que dice lo siguiente:
Somos conscientes de que la funcionalidad del reloj interno de las unidades de PlayStation 3, que no sean del modelo Slim, han reconocido el año 2010 como año bisiesto. Habiendo el reloj interno cambiado de fecha de 29 de febrero a 1 de marzo (ambos GMT), hemos comprobado que los síntomas han sido resuletos y que todos los usuarios pueden utilizar su PlayStation 3 con normalidad. Si la hora mostrada en el XMB es todavía incorrecta, los usuarios pueden ahora ajustar la configuración del tiempo manualmente o a través de Internet. Si tenemos más información, os lo haremos saber a través de los blogs de PlayStation. Pedimos disculpas por cualquier inconveniente que esto pueda haber causado.
¿Qué pasaría si a alguien le da ahora por cambiar la fecha manualmente y pone 29 de febrero de 2010? ¿Se quedaría ese día sin consola otra vez? ¿O la consola no dejaría poner dicha fecha? ¿Llamamos a Iker Jiménez y se lo preguntamos?

The conspiracy theories flew, and the fury and threats boiled over, and it was quite the spectacle to behold if you cruised by some gaming forums in the heat of it. I'll admit, I was personally thankful that I'd finished Heavy Rain the night before. I'd have probably been a little irritated to find that I couldn't sit down to play it after work. But man oh man... forget corn, we need to get our scientists working on a way to harness nerd-rage as a renewable energy source.
Hook one of these angsty geeks up to some machines, tell him his favorite game service is down on his day off, or that Michael Bay is directing a Thundercats movie, and power New York City for a month straight. It'll work I tell you. The science is out there.
