Mi hno se compro compu nueva (el mes que viene compro yo por fin :D ) y ahora puedo usar la aceleracion 3d en el escritorio con Compiz y Beryl, les dejo unos videitos de mi Desk :), los videos se grabaron medio mal no se porque (se ve como que las ventanas desaparecen de a ratos).

Este es el Switcher de Compiz, fijense que los videos se siguen viendo mientras hace todas esas cosas locas :P



beryl es un poco más inestable y pesado pero tiene efectos más impresionantes, como por ejemplo ... vean el video :)


P/D: la primera vez que subo algo a Google Video, realmente es bastante rápido :).

Se compró un AMD 64 dual core 3600+ con un mobo Biostar Geforce 6100 (en realidad actualizó). Pero en realidad lo que hace que ande es el chipset NVIDIA, no es que compiz o beryl necesiten tanto micro, de hecho con un semprom anda bien. el micro no lo siente mucho, salvo si jugas algun juego pesado como Nexuiz.

Yo probablemente me compre la misma pc pero con SATA2 :)

 es la unica que consigo con AM2 a un precio razonable, pero voy a tener en cuenta el consejo

compiz usa aceleracion grafica por opengl, asi que tecnicamente el micro aporta poco y nada, lo importante es la gpu


y juancho, no te conviene comprarte directamente un mobo que soporte am2 pero sin video onboard? y le encajas una pci-express de las grosas (si si, ya se que es mas gasto, pero si la queres despues para viciarte, renderizar o cualquier cosa grosa , te va a servir)

La verdad es que lo estoy pensando, puede ser, por ahi me molesta que me use la RAM del sistema (beryl medio que falla con 64 de ram del video), lo que sí debería ir averiguando de algo que sea 100% compatible sin mucho quilombo, la GeForce anda sin mucho esfuerzo . Ahora estoy viendo algo de Blender para armar unos tutoriales y jugando un poco a Nexuiz pero fuera de eso no uso mucho la placa aceleradora. ... igual lo voy a pensar
